The Job
You are the lead Mechanical Engineer, responsible for the development of the structure and systems of our wind turbines.
You will:
- Perform the stress calculations and design selection of all mechanical components/subsystems of the wind turbine: main structure, bolted connections, braking system, bearings, yaw system (geared connections), lubrications.
- Liaise closely with:
- Aeroelastic Engineer responsible of the loads calculations/simulations and wind turbine architecture definition;
- Designer responsible for conceptual design and 3D/2D modeling;
- Our fleet monitoring team to support the products improvement.
- Interact with subcontractors to manage product development and multiple R&D projects.
- Lead technical discussions with suppliers and certification bodies about mechanical systems.
- Provide accurate Technical Design Documentation, Supply Specifications and Instructions.
- Support wind turbines performance optimization, maintainability enhancement, design-to-cost initiatives, and non-conformity analysis / corrective actions.
Your Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, relevant working experience in international context.
- Expert knowledge of structure stress calculations (static, fatigue).
- Knowledge of Solidworks Simulation is a plus.
- Experience in bearing selection, and hydraulic components is a plus.
- You speak English fluently and can write technical documentation in English.
- You are trained to work at heights or are willing to undergo the necessary training.
